Haidara responds to speculation linking him with move to Man United

RB Leipzig midfielder, Amadou Haidara, has responded to speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.

Haidara also singled out five Man United icons, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes, Patrice Evra, Edwin van der Sar and Anderson, as the Red Devils stars he likes.

According to the Mali international, he supported Man United while growing up and was a ‘big fan’ of Ronaldo, Scholes, Evra, Van der Sar and Anderson.

The 23-year-old, however, said he ‘feels good’ at Leipzig but appeared to hint he would be keen to join the Old Trafford club by outing himself as a former United fan.

Recall that Man United Interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, reportedly wants to make Haidara his first signing.

Rangnick signed Haidara from Salzburg two years ago during his time at Leipzig.

“Everyone had a favourite team as a kid. Mine was Manchester United,” Haidara told Bild.

“I was a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, I liked Paul Scholes, Patrice Evra, Edwin van der Sar, Anderson.

“But if you want to talk to me about rumours: I am at Leipzig and I feel good.”

He added, “Yes, Ralf plays a very big role in my career. “Don’t forget, when Leipzig wanted to get me, I tore my cruciate ligament.

“But Ralf said that I should come anyway. I would not have expected that back then. I am very grateful to him because he really wanted me and gave me great confidence as a coach in Leipzig.”
