EPL: We needed this – Tuchel reacts as Jorginho nets two penalties against Leeds

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has admitted his team was lucky, following their 3-2 win over Leeds on Saturday.

Jorginho scored twice from the penalty spot, as the Blues came from behind twice to win at Stamford Bridge.

Raphinha had put away a first-half penalty to give Marcelo Bielsa’s side an early lead.

But Mason Mount made it 1-1 before Jorginho’s spot-kick seemed to have given the hosts victory.

Joe Gelhardt struck late on to bring the sides level, before Jorginho’s late penalty.

The result comes after Chelsea lost to West Ham United and drew 1-1 with Manchester United recently.

“I think we deserved to win but of course it’s lucky when you have a late goal in extra time. But coming back twice is very impressive and I’m very happy we turned things around. It was tough work but we didn’t expect anything else.

“We were lucky, we needed this. We were unlucky in the last two games conceding very late goals so maybe this is exactly what we needed,” Tuchel said.

Chelsea remain in third place with 36 points, behind leaders Manchester City and Liverpool.
