A group of armed robbers attacked Umuaka in Njaba LGA Imo State on the 7/12/2021 by 7:30am. The armed robbers are on a mission to rob the POS stands along Uba road close to Umuaka market, fortunately they didn’t succeed, out of anger they started shooting recklessly, probably to scare people away.
At the course of this, they shot some people among which was a young boy who went to mount posters of a woman that was about to buried, some little school girls on their way to school, a woman who was sweeping her shop was also confirmed dead with so many other unidentified bodies who were also dead while few people were heavily injured. Some of the victims were rushed to the hospital while some died at the spot.
However, soldiers who got the information of the robbery incident rushed down and went after the robbers and they succeeded in tracking down three of the hoodlums. Two died instantly while one was rushed to the hospital but was later confirmed dead.
